Ateneo won’t require an entrance test again for the next school year
It’s that time of the year again where students work hard to land a spot in their dream college. If Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) happens to be yours, you may want to know that it announced the suspension of its entrance examination once again for School Year 2022-2023.
Originally, the Ateneo College Entrance Test (ACET) serves as a requirement for first-year and transfer applicants. However, the university explained that the current health emergency will hinder the efficient and safe administration of the exam.
‘The application period for first-year college entry will open in early September 2021, with the exact date to be announced separately,’ it said. ‘Transfer applications, meanwhile, will be announced at a later date.’
Instead of the traditional ACET, freshmen applicants will be assessed based on the following as part of ADMU’s application process:
- Academic and non-academic performance from Grades 9 to 11
- Batch ranking at the end of Grade 11
- Personal admission essays
- Recommendation letters
- Extracurriculars
- Disciplinary records
The university will release updates and guidelines on their portal which you can view here. This year serves as the second time that ACET will be suspended as part of the college application process.
