Telegram’s new update allows you to video call with 1000 people

Talking on different digital platforms has been the norm for the past year. Telegram launched its video call and screen sharing feature in June, and it’s now followed by an update on handling up to 1000 viewers in a call.

The messaging app announced on its blogpost the expansion of its group video call. It still allows only 30 users to broadcast their videos, but an extra number of 970 participants can join by watching them. The post reads, ‘We will keep increasing this limit until all humans on Earth can join one group call and watch us yodel in celebration (coming soon).’

Apart from having the chance to interact with more people, Telegram also updated the video messaging feature to a higher resolution. People who choose to send those circular recordings instead of video calling would see how the quality of the pixels improved.

Filming video messages are more fun now since it gives users the option to add a dramatic effect when they use the rear camera. The audio from their device will also continue playing as they record. The blog says, ‘You can now sing along to your favorite songs or reply without pausing your podcast.’

Additional updates included in the platform’s announcement were improvements on video playback speed, timestamp links, screen sharing with sound, precision drawing, passcode animations, among many others. You can read more about it here.
