‘Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha’ fans are urged not to enter houses used as filming locations

All these K-Drama shows have a way of dominating Netflix PH’s daily most watched ranking. Squid Game along with Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha are the two series that are battling over the top spot as of writing. However, the Kim Seon-ho and Shin Min-a-led show’s team faced complications from controlling its viewers from entering houses used as their filming location.

The characters’ houses in Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha were located in Pohang City. But the real owners of the estate are currently struggling because a good chunk of the show’s fanbase has been trying to enter their property.

With that, the producers of the series urged fans to refrain from vising the location. They issued a statement that said, ‘We would like to thank our viewers for giving us so much love, and we would like to make one request regarding visits to our filming location.’

‘Hye Jin’s house, Doo Shik’s house, Gam Ri’s house, and Cho Hee’s house in the drama are spaces that we leased for filming purposes for the duration of our shoot, and at the moment, their owners are currently residing in those homes,’ it added.

The statement gave out an alternative to its viewers and suggested that they check out other landmarks in the city instead. The squid statues at Cheongha Market and the ships at Sabang Memorial Park will be preserved after the shoot. It also read, ‘You give power to our drama in a good way, but the natives are disturbed for their daily life because of the visitors.’

Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha follows the story of Yoon Hye-jin (Shin Min-a) who happens to be a dentist in a big city but eventually loses her job because of an altercation with her boss. She then moves and opens up her own clinic at Gongjin village, where Hong Du-sik (Kim Seon-ho) happens to reside. From there, Du-sik helped Hye-jin adjust to an unfamiliar place until they catch feelings for each other along the way.
