Catriona Gray (kinda) has a twin in Singapore
Catriona Gray was the first Filipino celeb voice option on Waze, and recently, she pioneered another feat by becoming the first Filipino to be featured at Madame Tussauds Singapore (MTS). Her wax figure immortalizes her winning signature walk and gorgeous red gown during the 2018 Miss Universe competition.
MTS revealed the figure through a Facebook Live broadcast where Catriona was present herself. She expressed how it was an honor and added, ‘It is my hope that our fellow kababayans, our fellow Filipinos walk through these halls [and] feel a sense of pride, because that’s really the emotion that I carried on the Miss Universe stage.’
Speaking of being on stage, the wax figure resembles Catriona’s “final walk” since the interactive concept is to “LavaWalk” with the beauty queen. She said on Instagram, ‘Yes, it is a wax figure of me, but in the dress and the accessories, it was Filipino talent that really allowed me to be at that standard that is so appreciated today.’

Catriona shared that the wax version of herself really captures everything – including her “beauty spots”. She shared, ‘Feeling ko napagod yung artists trying to like put the spots for my moles, but it’s really really incredible.’
It seems like many people online agree with Catriona after seeing a photo of her side-by-side with the wax figure. The comment sections were filled with jokes like, ‘Cat and her copycat’, ‘That girl on the right should join miss universe. 100% she’s gonna win’, and ‘I didn’t know which one was the real Cat.’
Pia Wurtzbach, a fellow Miss Universe titleholder, also congratulated Catriona. In 2019, Wurtzbach had launched her own wax figure in Manila, but it is permanently displayed in Madame Tussauds Hong Kong.
