Here are 7 BTS variety shows that can help you cope until 2025

Need some company while waiting for BTS in 2025?

Here are 6 BTS variety shows you can binge to help you cope.

One of the most dreaded times of the group’s fans finally became a reality. The Korean supergroup BTS is about to render their mandatory military service as announced by their label BigHit Music via Twitter.

According to the tweet, BTS’ eldest member Jin will begin his enlistment following his solo debut this October. He will also be the first from the group to fulfill the transition.

The septet’s label also said this was the perfect time for all seven members to pursue their individual plans and fulfill their military service, regrouping again sometime in 2025.

The indefinite hiatus was first hinted at by BTS’ leader RM during their anniversary live stream so the announcement was really not that big of a surprise for ARMYs.

ARMYs are all saddened yet extremely proud of the boys for going through with their mandatory military enlistment. They promise that despite the long wait, they are determined to remain supportive of them in their upcoming individual endeavors until 2025.

To help cope with the long wait until the boys’ return, here are 7 BTS variety shows that can help you pass the time:

1. RUN BTS

BTS’ longest-running variety show, ‘RUN BTS’ started on August 1, 2015, and has 145+ episodes. What started out as supposedly a special miniseries with 10 episodes, became a long-running affair because of the love and support of the fans.

Many like ‘RUN BTS‘ as the boys are given the opportunity to play games and challenges that show the viewers a better glimpse at the boys’ personalities and competitiveness.

2. Bon Voyage

Set in different locations, ‘Bon Voyage‘ features the group traveling to various countries. In four seasons, they managed to go to Norway, Sweden, Finland, Hawaii, Malta, and New Zealand.

The series shows a glimpse of the boys struggling with language barriers, communication, and other travel issues like missing luggage, budget, and planning itinerary, which is very entertaining to see.

3. Summer Package

‘Summer Package’ is a vlog-type vacation series that BTS used to do from 2014 to 2019 accompanied by a photobook. Since 2020, it has been replaced by the ‘Winter Package’ which still follows the same format.

Some of the locations they visited for the Summer Package include Palawan in 2017 which they shot before the Manila leg of the Wings Tour.

4. In the Soop

Similar to ‘Bon Voyage”s setup, the boys got catapulted to a location where they got to relax, partake in different activities, and bond with one another. Since this was shot during the pandemic, they had to shoot in South Korea.

This type of content from the boys is always a good experience for the boys and the fans alike as it is time for the boys to get very raw and real.

5. Bangtan Gayo

From 2015-2017, ARMYs could expect new episodes of ‘Bangtan Gayo’ on the platform V Live.

Like ‘RUN BTS’, ‘Bangtan Gayo’, is a variety game show where the boys participate in activities or games. Only this time, the games and questions are all related or connected to music.

6. American Hustle Life

One of the older reality shows, ‘American Hustle Life’ sees BTS in their early days.

What the boys initially thought was a US promotion schedule, turned out to be a trip full of pranks and challenges so they could train further. Episodes of the show can be still found on YouTube.

Just a little side note, prepare to be awed by their cuteness but also mind the little cringe-worthy moments that are now just good for laughs.

7. Rookie King

Lastly is another variety show they did as rookies. As the title entails, ‘Rookie King’ sees BTS as beginners in the industry.

Of course, as they were still starting out, they had to show the audience who they were through games and missions.

With all this content left behind by BTS, which still doesn’t include their existing music videos, live performances, live streams, vlogs, and their future solo ventures, surely three years would just fly by quickly enough.
