Japan is now open for individual travelers and VISA free travel
Japan reopens its borders to vaccinated tourists this October
They’re also offering VISA-free travel for 68 countries
The Philippines is yet to be added to the list of countries that Japan welcomes with no VISA.
For now, Filipino flyers may apply for an individual travel visa after Japan opened its borders following its heightened restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Japan officials hope that the 24-year low the Japanese Yen is experiencing against the US Dollar would entice travelers. They also hope that the surge of visitors will help the businesses regain their losses caused by the restrictions.
The Japanese government is also encouraging locals by giving them incentives to travel domestically to take advantage of the affordable prices.
Prior to the opening of the borders on October 11, Japan only allowed group visits under packaged tours and required visas from all tourists to set a daily limit of 50,000 visitors.
