Kanye dared Adidas to drop him, so they did

After being so sure Adidas won’t drop him, Adidas just did it

Here are all the brands and deals Ye finally lost after years of testing the waters

It is just about time Kanye West found out what would happen if he kept on beating the bush. Following his tumultuous career with seemingly a new controversy each week, Kanye finds himself in a new swamp as he now faces the effects of his collective display of problematic attitude.

ICYDK, Kanye West who legally changed his name to Ye last year, wrote a hateful tweet against Jews that has since then been deleted. Because of his problematic viewpoint, sponsors and brands have withdrawn their collaboration with the rapper. This includes the German brand, Adidas.

In a Drink Champs podcast earlier this month, Ye challenged the shoe brand taunting that they will not drop him. “I can say antisemitic shit and Adidas cannot drop me.”  But, after a thorough examination made by the company, Adidas decided to terminate its contract with the notorious rapper.

Ye has been working with the brand to produce the successful ‘Yeezy’ shoe line since 2013.

In a statement, Adidas said they “do not tolerate antisemitism and any other form of hate speech. Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful, and dangerous and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect, and fairness.”

Since then, ‘Yeezy’ products have been discontinued and all payments to Ye and his companies have been halted.

However, Adidas’ decision to cut ties with the artist was not only because of his antisemitic comments but his Paris Fashion Week stunt where he donned a ‘White Lives Matter’ shirt.

This is not the only time Kanye aired his controversial takes, however this time, he may have pushed the buttons too hard. Other brands and partnerships that withdrew their support are Balenciaga and Vogue. He was dropped by his talent agency CAA and his divorce lawyer Camille Vasquez. His upcoming documentary ‘JEEN-YUHS’ was also halted.

All these canceled deals caused Ye’s net worth to plummet from being a billionaire to a multi-millionaire.

Forbes estimated Ye’s net worth to currently stand at 400 Million.
