While talking about roles that he felt bad about not getting, the singer recalled that years ago, he was up for the role of Spider-Man that he ultimately lost to Andrew Garfield. “In the moment you’re destroyed or you’re defeated. But you realize this person was brilliant.” said Joe.

Adding that Andrew was obviously the right one for the role.

Joe also revealed that he never got to wear the Spider-man suit during the audition process. “But I’m sure I had one that I would try on occasionally back in the day.”

As reported by People, this has not been the first time Joe was asked about the role of Spider-Man. Back in 2010, during the casting for the role, he was asked whether he’d be interested in playing the friendly neighborhood superhero, but at the time he mostly dodged the questions.

Andrew Garfield who did book the role got to portray the role of Peter Parker in two ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ films and reprised his role in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ alongside two Spider-Mans Tom Holland and the OG Tobey Maguire.
