SBTown debuts their first P-pop girl group YGIG with The Voice Kids alum Darlene

We are under a spell with SBTown’s first P-pop girl group

This new P-pop girl group is ready to make us follow where they go.

Formed by Show Biz Town (SBTown) and co-managed by Universal Records, YGIG is a seven-piece girl group composed of Alexei, Darlene, Hazelyn, Jewel, JM, Meg, and Vien. The seven members passed the auditions and rigorously trained during the start of the pandemic.

Darlene Vibares, one of the members launched by the group, is an alum of The Voice Kids season 1 in 2014 under Team Lea. She now acts as the main vocal and rapper of the group.

The group name YGIG is an acronym for ‘You Go, I Go’, a favorite line of SBTown’s President and CEO Geong Seong Han.

It’s a line from a movie I really like. This is a message I want to relay to the young generation; don’t give up on your dreams and we will be here to go with you,” he says in a media conference.

The septet made its debut with the song ‘Shaba Shaba‘, a collaboration between the company and the members who helped co-write and choreograph the piece. It is also a wordplay on the Filipino phrase ‘siya ba’.

The group was launched last November 25.

The freshest girl group on the scene is eager to establish themselves locally first before stepping into a global spotlight like their predecessors SB19 to help showcase P-pop internationally.
