Tumblr will now allow “nudity” again
Tumblr released updated community guidelines that make us feel like its 2014 again
And the Internet found it funny the announcement was made when Elon Musk shared updates about Twitter, too
Tumblr’s official Twitter account recently tweeted that they have new community guidelines. This new set is an update on the blogging website’s strict ban on nudity made in 2018.
This is not a drill.

This announcement and update officially ended Tumblr’s 4-year ban on adult content. Their new community guidelines read, “Nudity and other kinds of adult material are generally welcome.”
They added that the fangirl favorite website is not here to judge their users’ art. However, the site now requests for a community label to be added to mature content so users may choose to filter out their dashboard.
Content that is too fixated on genitalia and visual depictions of explicitly sexual acts is still also prohibited.
Although the Internet shared their excitement over Tumblr’s nudity comeback, some were still confused by the new guidelines saying their content still got flagged. This may be because mature content-focused blogs are still not eligible for some Tumblr features such as monetization accordingly to their updated guidelines.
Tumblr may have reverted its rules on nudity to before its 2018 update with slight modifications, but the rest of its policies remain the same.
The micro-blogging website placed a ban on adult content on December 2018 following the Tumblr app’s sudden removal from the Apple App Store due to claims of “child sexual abuse material” or child pornography, as reported by Newsweek.
